Ukrainian refugees allowed to work in the Netherlands longer without a work permit

Work Permit Exemption for Ukrainian Refugees

Employers can hire Ukrainian refugees and do not have to pay for them not to apply for a work permit (TWV) if they fall under the EU Directive Temporary Protection (the RTB) and have an employment contract. This directive giving refugees from Ukraine the right to work in the Netherlands applied until March 4, 2025 and has recently been extended until March 4, 2026. The Ukrainian workers must be able to show a letter from the IND and a valid O-document (IND card). Report to UWV

Self-employed persons and freelancers from Ukraine require a work permit (TWV) required, to be requested from the UWV. Employment agencies report this for temporary workers. Specific rules apply to interns, such as having a internship agreement. BSN and valid ID
